Embedded Engineer – Testing (BSP Validation)

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 5 years of experience to BSP validation, debug. The role focuses on quality assurance and test automation for device firmware and multimedia systems, requiring strong technical expertise and ownership in complex testing environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement test automation frameworks using Python and pytest for hardware-software integration testing.
  • Develop and execute firmware validation strategies for compute and multimedia devices.
  • Create and maintain automated test suites for device drivers, firmware, and hardware interfaces.
  • Collaborate with firmware developers to ensure robust testing coverage of new features.
  • Lead debugging efforts for complex hardware-software integration issues.
  • Implement performance testing and benchmarking solutions for hardware components.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test infrastructure and methodologies.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in test automation for hardware/firmware systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Python with extensive pytest framework experience.
  • Hands-on experience with device driver testing and firmware validation.
  • Proven experience in multimedia testing (audio/video protocols and standards).
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools and protocols (JTAG, I2C, SPI).
  • Strong understanding of operating system concepts and hardware architecture.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines in hardware testing environments.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time operating systems.
  • Familiarity with performance profiling tools and ADB.
  • Experience with Linux kernel testing.
  • Background in automated test environment setup and maintenance.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).
